The Children’s Trust Fund Program
This community-based, primary prevention program aims to prevent child maltreatment and neglect with an emphasis on parent education.
In collaboration and partnership with the Department of Public Health and Human Services, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies is acting as the technical assistant to the statewide prevention network to bring additional support to programming efforts and increase public awareness statewide.
During the 2007 Legislative Session, HMHB, acting as the Technical Assistant, helped to pass legislation that transferred $1,000,000 of general fund dollars to the Endowment for Children. Interest earnings from this transfer can be spent on further expansion of child abuse and neglect prevention programming statewide. It is anticipated that approximately $45,000 will be available over the biennium for this effort.
